about me

Hi, I’m Maddles

I’m a designer, maker, artist, and lover of all things colourful.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, I trained in Product Design Engineering and now run my creative studio, MaddlesMade, in the wonderfully quirky East Vancouver.

I create everything from playful textile objects to high-impact immersive installations. While I have a soft spot for soft goods (textile based art), my practice spans many mediums, including wood, metal, light, and more.

Hands-on, resourceful problem solving is my jam, and I love turning ideas into colourful, unexpected realities.

the studio

The MaddlesMade studio is tucked in my favourite corner of Vancouver - East Van.

It’s a playful, colourful space filled with fabric, tools, bits and bobs… all the pieces I need to turn ideas into whimsical, tactile creations.

textile waste

I’m incredibly inspired to work with found objects, particularly textile waste.

Some materials include:

  • Old damaged clothing

  • Remnants / offcuts from local factories

  • Old unusable outdoor gear and accessories (pool floaties!)

  • Scraps leftover from client projects and commissions

  • Unwanted donated fabrics

  • Textiles sourced from thrift stores or local textile recycling centers

got unwanted textiles, clothing, or outdoor gear?

Let me know!

Maybe we can make something great from it.
